july 2: sergey, from russia

i met sergey when i was enjoying some of the great talent that came out of the woodworks because of the "play me, i'm yours" piano at the lincoln center.

sergey recently graduated from high school and moved to new york with a few of his friends to improve his english and have an adventure!  he got a job at a restaurant, but unfortunately for him, it was a dish-washing job with horrible (almost illegal) hours, at a russian restaurant nonetheless, so he had a tough first few weeks and didn't even get to be around people who spoke any english!

his last day on the job though was the day that i met him, so his spirits were up, and he was a very sweet and kind person to talk to.

it took a little while for him to understand exactly what this "blog" is that i have and why exactly i would include his words on it!  but he finally understood, and agreed to let me share this with you:

"i think, the main thing, is to follow your feelings and be yourself, and go to your dream every day, and then love will arrive in your house."

and that, my friends, is beautiful.  i love, "love will arrive in your house."  it's not that you will get love and happiness from seeking after it, but rather, it is the result of being yourself and going after your dreams.
