there were about ten-too-many people squeezed into the subway on the morning commute. i was standing there, pushed up against a sweaty guy on his way home from the gym, a business man in a suit who was reading a newspaper that would occasionally sweep my face, and a bright eyed girl who, come to find out, was a graphic design intern for a company based in soho.
i was thinking about how nice it would be to just be cruising off to 712 fifth avenue in a taxi rather than this hot crowded subway car when she, with a little laugh, said,
"isn't this fun?" which, i think was referring to the fact that we were packed in this subway car with a bunch of new york professionals, getting to experience the real new yorker lifestyle.
and then i remembered the adventure that this summer is and has been for me. and then i remembered to value every moment, and to stop wishing for anything other than what it is, because like lila said, this is it!
july's almost over... feeling kind of sad
ReplyDeleteoh you are so sweet! yes, i am too!
